ITINERARY DESCRIPTION

The starting point is the village of Frassené di Voltago Agordino (BL), which is about ten minutes by car from the town of Agordo.

You can park near the Church of San Nicolò, where our tour begins. At the intersection of Via Foch and Via Domadore look for paths 771 and 772 signs (Malga Luna, Malga Losch). Following the signs along the road, take path 772 which leads to Malga Luna, continuing to climb along the small asphalt road.

Paying attention to the red-blue signs on the tree trunks and on some rocks (in some places it is quite lacking) follow the signs for Croce Col di Luna, which you will reach by facing a short but somewhat steep climb.

From the top of Col di Luna the panorama is suggestive and opens up from the Pale di San Martino, Croda Granda, Agner up to the opposite peaks overlooking the Zoldana Valley.

The summit gives us a very suggestive and unexpected panorama: on one side in front of the Pale di San Martino mountains which show all their grandeur, such as Monte Agner and Croda Granda, on the other open onto the Agordo Valley and the surrounding mountain groups of the Agordine and Zoldane Dolomites, the Monti del Sole and Cimonega. You can recognize Civetta, Moiazza, Tamer Grande, La Schiara, Piz de Mezzodì and Piz de Sagron.

Continuing the path, you descend from the summit towards Passo di Luna.

Follow the signs for Rifugio Scarpa (path 773). In just over an hour, with slight and small ups and downs, crossing the signs for path 772 for Malga Luna, you reach Rifugio Scarpa, a wonderful panoramic point over the surrounding mountain groups of the Agordine and Zoldate Dolomites: Monti del Sole , Moiazza, Civetta, La Schiara, Pia de Mezzodì and Piz Sagron.

To return to the valley, follow trail sign 771, which leads to Frassenè via a gravel road or stretches of path.
